7/29/14 - Tuesday
26w2d - Welp, back at the hospital. Last night at dinner time, bleeding picked up some more. It was just like what happened the last time I had a bigger bleed, so I had the feeling I'd end up in the hospital again. I decided to drive down to Mom & Dad's for the night to be closer to UVRMC. Sure enough, we were headed to the hospital by 6:45am.
They started an IV and gave me 2 bags of fluids to hydrate me. They drew my blood to check my levels. My platelets were low, they said, but my clotting factors were ok - so they aren't concerned yet. Dad stayed with me until lunch time. The OB wanted to keep me at least overnight. He also talked to Dr. G in MFM and they determined that placental abruption is probably what's causing my bleeding, since previa has been ruled out now. The concerns are preterm labor, complete abruption/hemorrhage. The plan is to monitor me, my blood levels, and Sara's heart rate. I may need to stay at least until Friday when I have my appt at Primary's.
Tonight my BFF's from High School brought me dinner and came to visit. Originally, we had dinner planned at the Blue Lemon, but since I am here in the slammer they came to me instead! They are such rad friends. McKenzie, Sarah, Lisa, Ashley, Jules (in town from TX), Kirsten (in town from Spain), Newsome (aka Rachel), Lindsay, and Ashlee all came. (Of course we missed you Alison, Camille in AZ & Kristi in CA!) We had so much fun catching up and reliving some of our silly H.S. days, and the shenanigans we pulled. Haha. Kenz even painted my nails for me. I couldn't have dreamed of a better group of friends to have gone through my teenage and college years with. They are all such stellar women! My nurses all new that I had friends coming, and were super supportive. Luckily, my room was at the end with no other patients close by, so hopefully we didn't bother anyone!
