Edited a little...Here's a few entries from our Placenta Previa scare and hospital stay. (Note: the excitement dies down significantly after Day 1).

6/17/14 - Tuesday - HOSPITAL - Day 1
20w2d - So...this morning at 3:30am I woke up gushing blood.  I hurried to the bathroom and was still actively bleeding so I yelled for Reid to get up, that we needed to head to the hospital right away.  I wasn't in any pain, so knew it was placenta related.  I grabbed a few things, and had Reid bring some water.  He also woke up Mom to tell her we were headed to the hospital.  I'm so glad she was here, so we didn't have to worry about the boys.  We could just focus on getting me to the hospital quickly.  My doctor had previously told me to head to the hospital in Powell, since Lovell doesn't have Labor & Delivery or OB.  So that's where we went.

30 min. later, we arrived at the Hospital and they wanted to see me at the ER since I was only 20 weeks. (rather than going straight to labor & delivery).  I continued to bleed, they got all my information, took my vitals, and listened for baby's heart (sounded great).  A little later they came in and read the official policy to me and said they were mistaken, and apologized.  Apparently, since I was OVER 20 weeks, by just 2 days, they were supposed to send me to L&D after all.  So I got wheeled to a L&D room.  A nurse checked on us, checked the amount of bleeding, and said Dr. L would be right in, as well as their OB director who was coming in from Cowley to fill in, since the night shift nurse already had a bunch of patients.

When they arrived, Dr. L took a look by inserting a speculum in just a wee bit.  I was still bleeding a good amount, so he got right out of there not wanting to agitate anything further.  They started an IV and IV fluids.  I also got put on the contraction monitor.  At that point they just continued to monitor me.  I was having small contractions that were about 10 min. apart.  They felt like Braxton Hicks to me.

I was not allowed to eat or drink anything, in case of an emergency C section.  I had to sign a form giving permission for surgery in case of hemorrhage.  The anesthesiologist also came in and explained that I'd be put under general anesthesia if it came to surgery, and answered our questions.  I had to sign a consent form for that too.  Kind of unsettling.

Over the course of the day, I had a lot of bleeding.  I had to use a bed pan (thankfully Reid was there to help me out with that).  I was pretty worn out emotionally after everything.  And STARVING.  My doctor, Dr. C, came to see me first thing in the morning, then again in the evening.  He asked what he could do to make me comfortable.  Then offered me some Ambien to help me sleep.  That sounded wonderful, so I took him up on it.  Zzzzzzzz.

6/18/14 - Wednesday - HOSPITAL
I finally got the OK to eat around 8:30am.  Hallelujah!  Hospital food never tasted so good.  I ate so much.  I have still had IV fluids - which makes me need to pee every 2 hrs on the dot.  Still using the lovely bed pan.  Oy.  So glamorous.  Jealous of men at this point.

I got to sit on a stool and give myself a washcloth bath.  Felt nice to change gowns, and get fresh linens.  I put some makeup on, deodorant, etc.  Felt a little more human.

My friends, Kimberly & Megan, came to visit me.  Kimberly brought me a hot fudge sundae, and Megan brought me some Oreos and a Dr. Pepper.  :D  What awesome friends.

Mom brought Connor, and Jack to visit too.  I love visitors!

Dr. C said he wants me to go 24hrs without bleeding with light activity before I can be discharged.  It could be days or weeks.  Just have to take it 12hrs at a time.  Bleeding has slowed down, so here's to hoping it continues!

6/19/14 - Thursday - HOSPITAL
Reid's been staying here with me, and I'm so so grateful.  He even sleeps here in a nice recliner.  Bleeding started up again last night.  So looks like we'll still be here a few more days.

Mom came and hung out for awhile and Reid went home and got cleaned up.  She helped me wash my hair with this dry shower cap thing.  It was pretty hilarious.  I thought it smelled like cream cheese.  But after we were done, my hair did feel clean and fresh.

Mom and I had a great conversation with Dr. C, and Mom got to ask him all the questions a mother wants to know.  It was great for us both to get a good grip about a plan for the future and some of the what-if's answered.  We both felt good about it after, and are grateful for a Dr. that takes the time to listen to our concerns and address them.

My nurses have been amazing.  I have loved every one of them.

6/20/14 - Friday - HOSPITAL
Reid and I have been watching the FIFA 2014 World Cup since we've been here.  It's been fun.  They moved us to a bigger room that has 2 beds and a little more sunshine.  Also, I now get to use the regular toilet!  Woot Woot!  Upgrade! They let me take a real shower in a shower chair too.  Oh, I feel so much better.  I changed into my own clothes too.

My friend Rachel came to visit.  She brought me a "survival kit" with snacks, magazines, a pen, a cool cup, etc.  It is awesome.  She also brought me a Big Mac, fries, and a DP.  Mmm.  I'm really not a hospital food fan, so that tasted excellent.

The boys got to come visit with Gma & Mom.  Oh how I love to see them and squish their cheeks.  Gma brought me some Golden Grahams.  Yum.  I'm all set now.

Oh, Reid's work sent us a beautiful vase of flowers.  They are so nice to look at.

6/23/14 - Monday - HOSPITAL Day 7
21w1d - Over the weekend, Dr. Ch let me stop IV fluids.  Still have the line in, in case, but nice to not be tethered to that anymore.  My nurses have been wonderful.  Today a nurse wheeled me around outside to get some fresh air.  That was nice.

Mom & Gma had to leave Saturday.  They came and said goodbye before they took off.  Jack and Connor went to play at our friends' house and Rhett stayed home with a babysitter.  Clark went to Cub Scout Day Camp Fri & Sat and had a BLAST.  Reid stayed the night with the boys Saturday night and took them to church Sun morning.  He took them to a friend's to play after church, and came and hung out with me until the boys' bed time.  He went back to stay the night because Dad & Rachel weren't going to get there until late.

My friend Desiree came to visit Saturday.  She brought me a yummy smoothie & some books to read.  Awesome!

Dr. C came back this morning.  He has been really great.  He always takes time to listen and address my concerns.  He agreed to get an ultrasound done to see where the placenta is at.

The ultrasound showed that the placenta is still in fact covering my cervix by 1cm.  The radiologist report also noted a right pleural effusion (fluid in her lung), and right hydronephrosis (fluid in her kidney).  She was head down this time.

Still no results from the Amnio.  They are doing a maternal cell contamination test first to see if the results can be counted on as accurate, or if they might false negatives.

Bleeding is staying pretty stable.

I've had several nurses from Cowley, almost the whole OB department!  Dr. C said he feels better about sending me home soon knowing that they are all close by.  :)  He also feels better about it knowing that an ambulance is close by in Lovell.

Another friend, Rachel S., came to visit today.  She brought her son's cute friend to paint my nails really fun.  I loved it.  I watched more World Cup and Wimbledon.  Great time for sports!
