Music Junkie

Elbows.png

I don't post about music nearly as much as I think about it.  If I get on the computer to blog, I end up looking for music.  If I get on the computer to budget, I end up looking for music.  It's usually because I open up my iTunes for some "background music" while I work, then realize I'm itching for new music, and the search begins.

One website I love is Elbows.  Elbows aggregates songs, blog posts, and videos from other sources.  I have found a lot of new-to-me songs and artists from using their search engine (in the upper right hand corner).  I'll check out a music blog for a specific song I want to listen to and, consequently, find myself immersed by similar artists and songs that the blogger has also posted about.
Music Junkie heaven.

I love live music.  I'm stoked to go see Civil Twilight again a few weeks (March 10).  They'll be in SLC March 14 for my UT friends.  If I had unlimited funds, I'd go to shows all the time.  They can be spendy though.  It's one reason I like finding lesser known artists - their shows are cheaper!

I was talking to a friend about music, and realized that I'm a sucker for music with a good beat, as she is.  Here are a few songs I like at the moment with a good beat and cool feel.  I suggest listening to them with headphones or loud in the car (my favorite):

Civil Twilight - Trouble
(not a video, just the song)

Adele - Rolling in the Deep

Florence + the Machine - Dog Days are Over
(not a video, just the song)

The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition

What are your favorites right now?

  1. We must have the same taste in music... Those are some of my very favorites right now (with Trouble being my most favorite from CT). BTW, I think me and one friend are going to go to the Civil Twilight show- should we all go together, or do you have too many peeps now....? :)

  4. Ooh, Hailey I've been loving Mumford & Sons lately too. Almost put one of their songs on this post, but decided to group it with some others. I need to take a good listen to the Avett Brothers & Cold War Kids.
