Okay, Okay...

Happy April Fool's Day!

No, I'm not expecting a new bundle of joy. Yes, I'm 100% sure. I always had dreams of Cling Wrapping the toilet seat for my brother, or putting something nasty in the toothpaste. I don't think I ever followed through with any of it though. One April Fool's Day that I feel really bad about though was actually 10 years ago today.

I was about to turn 16, and got asked to Prom, which would be my very first date (the day after my b-day, no worries). He had asked me in a fun, cheesy, UT style way - so it was my turn to answer him creatively. I decided to answer him on April Fool's Day and pretend that the answer was No. I got a bunch of blue stuff; blue balloons, blue candy, blue poster board, etc. and wrote a poem that said "So sorry to make you 'BLUE', but I just can't go to Prom with you." Then left it on his front door. I had put a little note on a paper in the corner that said, Lift here for the reason. Underneath it said APRIL FOOLS! Poor guy, he had really thought I rejected him, and didn't look under the paper until his sister read it and told him.

What April Fool's jokes have you played?

  1. hahaha...OUCH! :) Honestly, I don't think I have EVER played an April Fool's joke. Okay, I have. My college roommates birthday is on April Fool's Day and when she woke up that day she kept going "its my birthday" and we totally acted like it wasn't all day long and telling her she was mixed up with her days and it wasn't really her b-day. Yeah, we started to feel bad by like 11 and made it up to her. haha.

  3. I bet you a million bucks you'll now stew over the idea of having another little one and think, "Hey, that's not a bad idea."

  4. Okay, you got a way better response with that than I did. That's awesome. So, when I was 10 or 11 I decided that it would be funny to put vaseline on the light switches, doorknobs, and toilet seats of all the bathrooms, and I recruited my sweet and innocent little sisters to help.....I haven't played too many jokes since then...

  6. sadly, I am so not original like you! I think the last april fools joke I played was at home; the usual sort of saran wrapping the toilet seat, putting a rubber band around the spray attachment on the kitchen sink, so when you went to turn on the water, it sprayed you in the face... Yesterday, I did nothing. I am such a loser! :-) Yours was GOOD though, I loved it!

  7. Well this april fools day I actually played a whole bunch of little tricks. One of them was I took all my stuffed animals and placed them each into a seatbelt in the car. Hey come visit me. I got a blog.
