Our baby girl, Sara Kate, was born 8 weeks early on September 6th. She was in the NICU and passed away 5 days later on September 11th, 2014. She was beautiful and her spirit was so strong. We miss her immensely and our hearts hurt deeply. We are so grateful for the time we had with her on this earth. We had a lovely graveside memorial service for her on September 13th in Utah. We have since returned to our home in Wyoming. It is wonderful to all be under the same roof again. We are trying to adjust to our new "normal". More blog posts will follow, but I am going to backtrack a little.
I made an appointment with the lovely Lacey McVea (Lacey Jay Photography) to do maternity pics for August 20th at a lovely outdoor spot in Provo. Unfortunately, I was admitted to the hospital for good on August 17th. So, we improvised. Lacey came out to the hospital and did a fantastic job making it work. I was allowed 30 min/day of wheelchair privileges, so we took advantage of that and went down to an atrium inside the hospital as well as outside on the grounds. We got some funny looks. Who chooses the hospital as a photo shoot location??
I love that I have these pictures to remind me of my pregnancy with Sara Kate. I loved carrying her in my belly. I loved feeling her move around inside me. I loved telling her good morning when she woke me up with her kicks. She inspired me, and I loved her intensely even before I met her.
I was carrying an angel.
Enjoy.
