We're HOME.

Ahhh, it's never felt so good to be home.  I love having all my stuff again.  Our sheets are so soft!  I have a vacuum!  We can watch movies again, & blast music through our sound system.  I brought home groceries in the pouring rain, but got to unload them in the garage instead of getting soaked!

It's going to take awhile to get into the routine of everything again.  We have a lot of cleaning to do...  our house has been vacant and it shows.  Not to mention the piles of stuff we dumped just inside the door while we weren't living here.

A few details remain to be finished in the kitchen, but it's functional again.  I really like how it turned out.  I'm considering a new paint color...don't know what yet.  Something less bold.  Although, the red holds fond memories of my girlfriends who helped me paint before we moved in.  Most of them have since moved away, so  a part of me would be sad to see it replaced.

We are having Thanksgiving at our home again this year.  Shauna & Cody are coming.  We are all so excited to have them here!

The boys all loved sleeping in their own beds again.  Connor even slept 11 hrs last night; we had to wake him up to take Reid to work.  I would say that meant I got a full night's sleep, but Jack woke up around 2:30am.  I don't think it's possible to get a full night's sleep as a mom.  If it's not one thing, it's another.  Although, it's amazing how our bodies get used to it, and somehow we still function pretty well.

Sorry, thinking out loud...  I guess that's really what a blog is.  Regurgitating what's on our minds.  No wonder the word BLOG sounds like someone upchucking their lunch.  It all makes sense.  I am now at peace with it.

I thought the same thing when I saw the kitchen being redone "I hope they don't mess up the paint job we worked so hard on!" 2. Haha I just lol'ed (is that a word?) at Kristy's comment and the DDR...love it! I LOVE the red in your kitchen, and not just because we helped you paint it. But I understand if you want something new since you got a whole new kitchen! Maybe just leave a teeny weeny spot of the red for memories sake :) Love ya, glad you're back in your own home.

  6. Wahoo! So glad to hear you're home!I would love to see some pictures! I know what you mean with the not getting sleep thing - seriously I think Madison and Paul plan it all out, "you get a long sleep tonight and I'll get mom up and then tomorrow you get her up and I'll sleep!" Whatever!

  10. kristen...i just read up on the whole thing with your house, oh my gosh! living in a hotel with three kids for that long must have been a real pain, you're a trooper. i guess the nice thing is that you can pick better colors/materials than we did in the kitchen:) fingers crossed that you don't have anymore problems.
