T-day at the Masons

This was the first year we had Thanksgiving at our home, and the first year without family. We are so grateful for awesome friends! The food was fabulous, and the company splendid.

The turkey was a collective effort - Erin bought it and cleaned it out, Amy pulled out the rest of the neck, and the giblets (ew!) and stuffed it with citrus & rosemary, I watched & then cooked it in my oven (haha), and Reid did the honor of carving it.

I attempted my Aunt Sherilyn's homemade rolls, which I dare say turned out lovely. I loved Erin's mashed potatoes & the gravy turned out yummy. While the women slaved away in the kitchen, the men did a great job of keeping track of the 5 little boys, and resolving any feuds. Amy's Chocolate Brownie Trifle won over the dessert crowd - who needs pie on Thanksgiving anyway? Erin & Jack H. enjoyed the pumpkin pie like true Thanksgiving traditionalists.
