Catching Up

The morning after Thanksgiving the kids and I flew out to the good ol' land of Mount Timpanogos (it is my favorite mountain after all). Bright and EARLY. We had a fabulous trip! (I try to suppress the memories of attempting to hold 16 mo. old Jack on my lap for an entire 2 hrs on the plane).

I got to see most of my relatives including both sets of grandparents, made Mom's Christmas present w/ Megs & smooched on my niece Avery.

I played Guitar Hero with Patty McFatty (aka my "little" bro Patrick), and chatted till the wee hours of morning with Rachy Pach (aka my 18 yr old, growing up too fast, sister) about highschool drama (not hers) and attempted to help finalize her college admissions essays. You've got to keep them 200 words or less!

I attended 2 beautiful weddings (after shmoozing my way into the temple both times having left my recommend in the green land of Oregon), ate at Cafe Rio & had a Los Hermanos date with Daddy-O.

I got to see my highschool bff's with their kids, see a beautiful sunset from my parents deck, have a calligraphy lesson from my mom, and watch my dad get ready to take the falcons out flying.

Whew! I apologize to those I didn't get a chance to visit, I still love you!

We stayed for 8 days, then have been recovering this whole week...well at least I have been. The kids adjust fast. It's the unpacking, laundry, grocery shopping, and lack of sleep that get to me. After a trip I usually have to give myself a week to recover. It's standard procedure around here.

I have finally got the Christmas decorations up. And now I feel ready to celebrate!
p.s. pics of the trip may be coming in a following post.

  1. What a fun trip and how in the world did you get into the temple without your recommend? I bet you will now keep the recommend in your wallet! Sorry we missed you but it sounds like you had a wonderful time with family.
