NieNie

I don't really know where to start. I've wanted to write something about this ever since it happened, but didn't know what. This article prompted me to finally share some thoughts.

Many of you are familiar with the NieNiedialogues and the Nielsen's story. I do not know them personally, yet they have had a large impact on my life lately. I have read Stephanie's blog for several months now, and backtracked and re-read all her previous posts. She has an amazing way of showing how incredible motherhood and married life is - and also how real it is. Her posts have literally moved me to put more effort into being a better mother, a better wife, and making our home even happier.

The Nielsens were involved in a fiery plane crash in AZ in August. Christian was burned over 30% of his body, and Stephanie over 80%. Their 4 young children have been taken care of by Stephanie's sisters in UT while they are recovering.

Stephanie's sister Courtney, who has been taking care of the oldest 3 children, posts regular updates on her blog cjanerun. Yesterday, she posted a link to an incredible article written about their story. You can read the article here. Grab some kleenex, it's tear-jerking.

Note: If you're interested, Stephanie's sisters have been re-posting reader's favorites back at NieNieDialogues. One of my favorites can be found here.

  1. I don't know her either, but she is an inspiration to me also. I started reading about a month after the crash. My friend had posted something about her on her blog that interested me and know I love reading her sister's updates. It great to her other people I know feel the same way about it.

  3. Thank you SOOO much for posting about this. I didn't know anything about it and I read the article you linked. WOW!!! I don't think I've cried that much in a while. Thank you for opening my eyes... I like a good reminder every now and then to appreciate things and people and life! I'm going to have to keep up with those blogs and keep sending prayers and happy thoughts to the Nielson family. Thanks again Kristen!

  4. Wow, these types of things do make you realize all that you do have and how you can become better at it. There's a blog similar to this that I follow I don't know the people personally they are child hood friends of my cousins. Go to my page and click on Vic and Molly under friends. They had a little girl die this summer. Talk about strenght and blessings. And the way this mother writes is incredible. She is amayzing. Warning I hardly ever make a blog entry with out crying and realizing how I could better my own life. I always check it daily. I'm glad to see you are doing well. I love the pictures of Clarks mess! That's awsome (mainly because I didn't have to clean it up!) :) Miss you girl! love Audrey
