On June 4th, Jack took his first steps.
On June 14th, he took 10 steps.
On June 17th, he was walking around the whole house!
I am actually really excited for this stage. I think it's adorable how they lift their arms up while their little legs scramble to get as many steps in as they can before they fall down. Outings to the park will be much nicer. Crawling on the cement sidewalks was painful to watch.
In other Jack news, this past month he started waving and saying "Hi" all the time. He says "Dada" a lot, still doesn't say "Mama" despite my daily efforts to change his ways. He REALLY loves his Daddy. When we go pick Reid up at work Jack watches out the window with excitement in his eyes. As soon as Jack recognizes Reid, Jack's face just lights up with joy.
The other night Reid and I were trying to decide who deserved the opportunity to change Jack's diaper. He was in Reid's arms at the time. Reid says, "Let's let Jack decide." I laughed and agreed, knowing what would happen. Sure enough, I tried to get Jack to come to me, but he pushed my arms away, and clung tighter to Reid. Hehe. My boys are Daddy's boys.
After several painful weeks, Jack's 2 front top teeth are both finally in. He has been much happier since they came through. He's got quite the nice gap between them. Clark's were the same way, and I remember thinking they were going to stay that way. Luckily Clark's came together nicely once the rest of his teeth came in. I'm hoping the same for Jack!

Yay Jack!!! so exciting!

ReplyDeleteHow do they decide if they are going to be a mommy's boy or a daddy's boy. We've got a combination around here.
