Jack's new found Language

So, yesterday out of the blue Jack started babbling. Up to this point all he was doing as far as "talking" is squealing & spitting w/ his tongue between his lips. Yesterday he started combining a lot of the consonants w/ the vowels. "How are you doing today Jack?" "a-ba-ga-ba-ga-ga ga-ga-ba," he says. Babies are so intriguing. What baffles me is how one second it just clicks for them, like a light bulb turning on. And after that, they never turn back. The day before, Reid and I were just having a conversation about when Jack would start "talking" - and how we hoped he would soon and that nothing was wrong (something you always worry about as a parent!).

The best part is Clark's assessment of this new found language of Jack's. We were in the car picking Reid up from work, and I excitedly said "Listen to Jack! He's talking!" Reid said, "Oh wow, nice work Jack." Clark was also really excited and exclaimed, "He's talking Spanish!" hahaha.

  1. lol! I love that! Speaking of Spanish, Keegan did something similar the other day. I called Zach 'Zachary' and Keegan goes "Zachary is Spanish for Daddy." Hilarious...I love to hear the babies talk, it is my favorite! Lately, Kayden wakes up at 5:30am and babbles until I come in to feed him. I think it is adorable, but Zach....not so much :-)

  3. haha pretty close clark, just as understandable! I LOVE the babble, especially when they have long conversations by themselves as they're playing.

  4. I love all of these pictures of the boys. We miss them. They are growing up way too fast. The picture of Jack will be my new one of him in the grandchildren gallery. Gram. Mason

  5. Jack is just so darn cute! I love his big toothless grin! I guess you are starting the Spanish immersion thing at home, huh?! That is hilarious! It is funny that they say it's Spanish instead of French or German or some equally unknown language. Anyway, you've got two super cute little boys!

  7. A bilingual baby, what a smartie:)
It won't be long until Clark starts interpreting Jack's language. Kenley had to do that for us with Dallin.
