I'm 35 weeks. Only 5 weeks to go.
This pregnancy has been different than the others.
The usual comments haven't been coming.
I haven't been stopped by anyone in the grocery store with ...
"any day now?"
"you look like you're gonna pop!"
"are you having twins?"
By this point in pregnancy 1, 2, and 3 these comments were inevitable everywhere I went.
People that have seen my LARGENESS in past pregnancies have often commented that I look smaller this time around. I wondered if it was really true. So, I consulted photographic evidence - and it's true! Check it out!

Besides the sciatic pain I had for a few weeks (gone now), and the Bronchitis that I've had the past 6 weeks...I have felt fabulous this pregnancy. The aches and pains I normally feel at this point haven't shown up yet.
I am very grateful for that.
I think part of it is that I was in the best shape of my life when I got pregnant this time. It's great motivation for me to get, and stay, in shape so I can feel this good next time around.
I wonder if this "smallness" will effect the baby's birth weight?
Here's my history:
Clark - 8 lbs 13 oz - 40 weeks 4 days
Jack - 9 lbs 7 oz - 41 weeks
Jack - 9 lbs 7 oz - 41 weeks
Connor - 9 lbs 9 oz - 39 weeks 6 days
I have fully expected that this baby will follow suit.
But now, I'm not so sure...

You look FABULOUS! And I love your hair long like that! I was smaller with Elam than with the others also (by about 10-15lbs) and he was exactly the same size as the other two boys (8lb, 2oz) and yet he was two weeks earlier than the others. I really thought he was going to be much smaller, but not so. Looks can be deceiving! Just a teeny little month to go for you!! Yay!!
ReplyDeletethat's crazy to see the difference! i knew you were smaller, but i didn't realize how much so. yay for meeting him soon!!! but i will say this. if you can fit into your pre-pregnancy pants the week after giving birth, i will punch you. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look AMAZING! Seriously! I wish I could look like that when pregnant. Not ever going to happen though. :) unless you want to come be my personal trainer... :) but you have a long while before that will be necessary.
ReplyDeleteYou look great!! Your exercise has made a HUGE difference and you will feel it after as well. So keep it up! As for affecting size, don't count on it. I was in great shape and still had a 10 lb. baby!! Can't wait to meet him!
