24 weeks

{9/6/2011 - 24 weeks - baby boy #4}
On my mind right now...

- this baby boy needs a name!
I really wish we had a name picked out for this little guy.  Right now I'm not excited about any name, and neither is Reid.  Naming Connor was rough.  We sat in the hospital for hours going over our lists.  Naming a child is a daunting task!  I would love to have a name chosen BEFORE the baby is born this time.  Suggestions are welcome!

- ouch! *warning...some complaining follows*
On Sunday night I developed some sudden sciatic nerve pain. Oy.  It hurts.  Stretching has helped some, at least so I can walk around slowly, but the pain is still there whenever I move.  I saw my chiropractor yesterday, and her adjustments didn't help at all.  Super frustrating.  I had whiny and uncooperative children with me that I had to drag out of there.  I sobbed like a boob on the way home.  I've been hobbling around like a 90 year old woman.  I can't lift anything heavy...including Connor, without intense pain.  I'm going to try getting a masseuse to rub it out.  I think my muscles are super tight and may be contributing to the nerve pain.  We shall see...

- my husband rocks!
Reid has been a champ.  My pain is worse at the end of the day.   He's happily  helped with dinner and done the dishes.  He's put the kids to bed.  He's comforted me when I've had emotional breakdowns.  Sometimes I'm crying because of frustration, sometimes because of pain, sometimes it's just hormones.  What a good man, to deal with it all without complaining.  I heart him.

- food
The ravenous pregnant lady has returned.  I really haven't had any aversions this pregnancy, thankfully.  Everything sounds good all of the time.  lol.  I just need food.  NOW!  My appetite is small though.  I can't eat very much at one time, but two hours later I'm ravenous once again.

- church
At the end of July I was put in as the Young Women President in my ward (in charge of the program for girls age 12-18).  I love working with these amazing girls.  It's definitely keeping me on my toes.  Luckily, I have some awesome women on my board to help keep me in line!

- preschool
Jack's preschool co-op is about to start up.  This is his second year.  I've been busy putting together schedules/lessons, etc. for the group.  I teach for the first couple weeks!  I love the curriculum we use (mykidgenuity.com).  It's been so fun to do this for Clark and now Jack.  Connor's next...I'll be putting together a group for 3 yr olds next year.

  1. LOVE this post, Kristen. You look fabulous! Sorry about the sciatic and that the chiropractor didn't help. Sometimes it takes a few days for it to kick in, or maybe it won't, but it's probably still good you got cracked. :) And you are one busy lady! You deserve to cry every now and then.

  2. You look super cute! I'm sorry you have to deal with the sciatic stuff. I really don't know of any other "fixes" for it than you have tried already. The only other thing that I tried once was increasing my calcium intake. Hope it gets more manageable soon!

  3. I started calcium supplements a couple days ago Jayme! :) I'm usually reminded to start taking them in pregnancy when the leg cramps come along, but they haven't come this time around.

  6. You look amazing! If the massage doesn't work, try acupuncture. It was the only thing that worked for my sciatic issues. :) good luck lady!

  9. You are one hot preggo momma!

My hubby says Oh my another boy! (even though I told him it was boy when you announced it) She is one special mom to have all those boys and she must have patience!

Super sorry about the nerve - never fun! Have they tried moving the baby yet? That is all it took for mine with Kate (Jack and Kate have the same birthday).

YW president - I so should email you what we did last week with our girls - super cute, cheap and fun! And it goes along with this years theme Believe!

  10. Kristen, you look amazing! In my last pregnancy, I noticed a 90-year old lady at Costco moving faster than I was!! Pretty depressing, but good thing it doesn't last forever. Hang in there! I hope you find a good solution for your pain. You are an awesome mom and person!

  14. Um hello?! How do you look so hot preggo? I feel for you with the sciatic pain...I had them during my pregnancy (can't remember if it was Isaac or Abby...how sad!!) Honestly, I don't remember anything helping. The doc told me it was probably the way the baby was sitting...who knows. I hope you feel better soon! love ya!
