Utah

Utah was good to me. You bet the first thing I did was eat a pork salad from Cafe Rio. YUM.

Friday night I had a BBQ with some old high school buddies & their spouses. It was so fun to reminisce and find out the truth about who had crushes on who back in the day. At one point I was practically peeing my pants laughing from the stories.

Saturday all the fam was together for an awesome breakfast that included Daylight Donuts. No donuts here compare! We watched the French Open womens final, and played a bunch of Rock Band. My new favorite song to "sing" is Give It Away by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I had a sore throat after that.

Saturday afternoon I went to my 10 yr. HS Reunion. My little bro. Patrick said, "Wait, how many years has it been??" He made fun of me when I assured him it was 10 - something about me taking my Centrum Silver now. It was fun to see classmates, and how much their kids look like them.

Saturday night, I finally got to play some tennis! Rachel & my bro-in-law CJ were kind enough to let me share the court with them. Boy, I need some practice! My back hands came back to me quickly, but for some reason (read: only playing off and on in between pregnancies for the last 6 years) I couldn't get a consistent forehand. Disgraceful! I really loved playing again though. I'm thinking maybe I should join a women's league or something. Usually when I find someone who plays tennis, it's my friend's husbands. And I'm not just going to call someone's husband to go play tennis with me...*ring*ring* um, yeah, hi, is your husband there? Hi friend's husband, this isn't awkward at all, but you wanna meet me at the tennis court? Anyway...if you're reading this and are a girl who plays tennis and lives by me, let me know!

Sunday I got to go to my cousin's baby girl's blessing. It was totally sweet, and her baby looked so beautiful! Later I went to my parent's church meetings and got to see old friends and neighbors. Some are like family to me. I always love that about visiting with my parents. My siblings all came over for dinner, my pick, Corned Beef Hash Tacos! It's a family recipe passed down a few generations. It's not for everyone, but it reminds me of home. Reid thinks they are gross.

Sunday night we watched the Celtics beat the Lakers at L.A., then played Scum. I stayed up late going through old books my parents are planning to get rid of, and snatched some up to take home that reminded me of my childhood.

I just love hanging out with my siblings & parents. We all get along great. We laugh hard. We have good discussions. We make fun of each other, and write dumb things down in our family quote book, e.g. You just got $2.49'd!! (yes, inside joke). Love you guys!

Now, if you made it to the end.  I have a treat for you.  My sisters and I may or may not have tried on wedding dresses....ok so we did.  Well, Rach & I did since Megs is 9 mo. prego - she was our devoted photographer.  We tried to recreate my mom's bridal picture that always hung in my grandma's house.  It was fun to play dress up, and be silly.  Things always get a little crazy with my sisters!

  1. umm...how come your mom doesn't look any older? She looks the same as she did when we graduated 10 years ago! I can't believe it was 10 years ago, we are getting old :(. Wish I lived closer so that we could play a little tennis together again!
