Yoo-hoo

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Yoo-hoo?

Yoo-hoo and I have a history together.

We first met when I lived in Connecticut as a youngster. After moving to Utah with the family, Yoo-hoo and I parted ways. Utah, sadly, didn't realize the greatness that is Yoo-hoo. For several years we rarely saw each other. Only on a couple occassions at random convenience stores along the way on family road trips. It was a dark and lonely time for Yoo-hoo and I.

My first adventure away from home to Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) provided more than just an education and freezing temperatures. It was a place for reunion. One day while shopping at the local Wal-Mart, Yoo-hoo and I found each other. It wasn't in the bottled version I preferred, but the tall aluminum cans were better than no Yoo-hoo at all!

Those 2 years were happy years. My good buddy Mr. Nick-namer himself, Dustin Drussell, shared my love of Yoo-hoo. He is from New Jersey, land of free-flowing Yoo-hoo. On a trip back to NJ for a school break he bought a whole case of Yoo-hoo drink boxes for lucky ol' me, and brought it home on the plane.

I moved back to Utah after graduating with my Associates, and transferred to BYU. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Wal-mart there carried Yoo-hoo now too!

Living in Oregon these past 4 years has been difficult. Wal-mart isn't close by. Yoo-hoo and I drifted apart. I only saw it at Christmas time, as Yoo-hoo always managed to find its way into my Christmas stockings (thx Santa).

But my friends, today is a happy day. Yoo-hoo and I have been reunited. And not just in the tall aluminum can version, but in my favorite glass bottle version! It is even nice and chilled from being kept in the Cold Drinks section. Amazing. I bought two. I finished one on the way home.

Oh Yoo-hoo how I've missed you!

  1. Oh... I'm a fan of a good story about being reunited with a long lost love! ;) You're just too cute!

I think I've tried Yoo-hoo... I think?!? I know my brother fell in love with it, and I think he shared... but he's on a mission now so I haven't really gone looking for it. If you're sooo in love with it too... maybe I should!

  3. I have never tried the stuff. I remember you telling me to buy some and think of you whilst drinking it when we moved to Rexburg for a few months, but I never did. I will have to go search for it now!

  7. Ah, Yoo-hoo. Is seems I've had a long-distance relationship with it too, not seeing it as much as I'd like... but when I do, umm boy. Can't help but drink the entire bottle/can/box in one swig.
