The First of Many

Before the Fathers and Sons campout [the end of May], Reid wanted to do a trial run in the backyard. Since we haven't been camping in a while he wanted to make sure we had all the equipment & bedding they would need. More importantly,

Would Jack actually sleep in the tent?

Reid told me that if Jack ended up sleeping in the house, he wasn't going to take him along. So, he set up the tent, and even made a mini campfire....really mini. Reid is a great teacher, and always takes the time to explain things to Clark & Jack.

I went outside to see how their trial run was going and found them all huddled around the "fire". (The other boy heads in the pics are our buddies Josh & Andrew who were over and equally enthralled)

The trial went well & Jack slept the whole night in the tent - so Reid agreed to take both boys to the campout. Clark was SO excited to go camping!

Lucky for us, Aunt Shauna & Uncle Cody decided to come to town for the weekend. So Uncle Cody got to join the boys at the campout. I know Reid REALLY appreciated the extra set of hands.

Shauna & I had a fun girl's night w/ Kim (my fellow mom of all boys) eating PF Changs & watching a movie. I really tried to sleep in since I didn't have anyone home to wake me up, but I only made it until 8am before I couldn't stay in bed any longer. But at least Shauna & I got to have a lazy morning chatting in our pj's until the boys got home.

With 3 boys, I think Fathers & Sons is something I'll be looking forward to every year!
