Remembering Voodoo Doughnuts

So, these pics are a month old, BUT... you and I will both survive. Whew. Glad I got that off my chest.

My "little" brother, Danaan (pronounced Day-nen if anyone is wondering), returned from his LDS mission in Peru in January. I wasn't able to be there to see him arrive back home, so he and my lovely mother booked a trip to come visit the Great Northwest. Clark could hardly contain his excitement on the days before their arrival, constantly asking me if they were coming yet.

My mom spent the day with the little guys while Danaan and I hit downtown. We devoured several donuts from an awesome donut shop called Voodoo Doughnut. Among our mix was a maple bar w/ bacon on top (don't hate until you try it, it's YUM), a Cap'n Crunch donut, a Butterfinger donut, and a gigantic Banana Fritter topped with chocolate, peanut butter, chocolate chips, & peanuts. They even perform weddings at this crazy place. Every girl's dream I'm sure. We also did some shopping, and walked down the Waterfront. [note: pictures were taken, but on my bro's camera - sorry!]

The next day we enjoyed down in Tillamook, hitting the cheese factory, and the beach. It was a gorgeous day, especially for February!

The best part was hanging out with Danaan again. I missed him! He is an incredible uncle. He chased Clark around so much that Clark actually wanted to take a break - which never happens - that kid can go forever! Jack cuddled right up to him to watch movies. He's awesome, handsome, and single if anyone is lookin'... (applicant must also be amazingly awesome, or need not apply).

  2. That's so fun to see your brother again! My little brother comes home in July and I'm so excited! He's never met Madelyn. That doughnut place sounds pretty fun. And you can't go wrong with the Oregon coast!

  3. How fun! I love it when family visits - and your little brother is not so "little" anymore! I remember him running around when we came to visit from RICKS - crazy how everyone grows up.

And your boys - are spitting images of each other - they are hard to tell apart!

  5. Kim: yes, they're kitchen utensils. My mom wanted to stop at the dollar store to get some pails & shovels since we had left without ours. They didn't have any, so she came out with those kitchen utensils & a couple Easter buckets. :) The kids loved them.

I'm glad you got to see Danaan, but it made me a little jealous because I haven't gotten to see Ross who got home in December.
