Last week my best buddy-of-a-cousin, Aaron, came to visit us from SLC! I was so excited when he told me he was coming. We have been buddies since we were teeny tiny. We had a great time playing with the boys, reminiscing, and seeing some of the beautiful scenery Oregon has to offer. We had some good chats too, the kind you just can't get at big family gatherings.
Aaron, the boys, and I made a day trip out to the coast while Reid was at work, poor guy. Clark enjoyed his first carousel ride (emphasis on enjoyed, it wasn't his first) at a little shopping center. We bought Bottlecaps & lots of gummies from a quaint candy shop. The ocean was beautiful as always. Jack enjoyed the view from Aaron's shoulders. Clark liked running away from the small waves that came on shore. He also enjoyed getting his hands nice and dirty playing with the sand.
The only thing Aaron had on his list to do while in Oregon, was to see some waterfalls. So, we made sure to schedule it in. We all squished into our little sedan and ventured out to Silver Falls. It's a grouping of 10 different waterfalls all connected by the Trail of Ten Falls. With the kids in tow, we only saw 3 of them, but WOW. South Falls was amazing! Since it is Spring, water is just gushing over the falls right now. The trail took us behind the falls too. (If you look close at the picture above you can see little people along the trail). I HIGHLY recommend making a stop here if you are ever in Oregon.
Thanks for coming Aaron!

So so fun!

ReplyDeleteYou've had a lot of visitors lately! Looks like a lot of fun. We went to Silver Falls with my family a few years ago and it was a lot of fun! There's one place where you can swim in the river between some of the falls and the kids had fun there. Matt had fun swimming out to and under one of the falls, except that it was REALLY cold!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a blast! Now that I think about it, I wish that we had visited more waterfalls while we were in OR...We only saw Multnomah falls while driving to Utah once. So sad, maybe next time we visit! Miss you!
ReplyDeleteWe have never been there, that would be an awesome adventure. I love that you got to reconnect with your cousin for a time.
